Waves Trailer: From the Director of It Comes at Night and Krisha

After dabbling in the post-apocalyptic horror genre with It Comes at Night, writer-director Trey Edward Shults is returning to the horror of family heartbreak and tragedy this year with his latest film Waves. The movie revolves around an upper-middle class African-American family in South Florida and it stars Sterling K. Brown as “a well-intentioned but domineering father” who looms over the lives of his athletic son (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) and introverted daughter (Taylor Russell). Featuring a haunting score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and an immersive, experiential visual style, the movie has already earned raves at Telluride and Toronto. Waves hits select theatres on Nov. 15th; check out the latest trailer below and see what you think.

What an interesting, and captivating trailer! I will definitely see this at the theater.

Not sure, but has this premise been explored before? I can only think of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
