One decade after the first movie became a surprise hit for Sony, Zombieland: Double Tap brings back the original cast for another dose of undead hilarity. Horror-comedy hybrids do not typically fare well at the box office, but this one seems to be an exception. That being said, Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is likely to be the movie to beat this weekend, even if it is tracking way behind the original film. Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is also releasing this weekend but only with a select number of special screenings courtesy of Fathom Events. In select theatres, we have Taika Waititi’s acclaimed satire Jojo Rabbit fresh off its People’s Choice Award win at TIFF, along with Robert Eggers’ psychodrama The Lighthouse starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe. What will you be watching this weekend?
