Bombshell Trailer #2

bombshell

As this year’s awards season race is starting to take shape, one of the movies we haven’t seen or heard much about so far is Jay Roach’s Bombshell. The movie revolves around the 2016 Fox News scandal that found former news anchor Gretchen Carlson filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against CEO Roger Ailes with several other women soon coming forward with similar claims. Although the initial teaser trailer didn’t give a full sense of the film’s tone, a new trailer has been released online that reveals a similar feel to Adam McKay’s dark political comedies The Big Short and Vice. It makes sense considering that screenwriter Charles Randolph co-wrote The Big Short, although to be fair, Jay Roach has previously done his share of political comedies as well. The movie stars Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, Alice Eve and Kate McKinnon with John Lithgow playing Roger Ailes under heavy makeup. Bombshell hits theatres on Dec. 20th; check out the new trailer below and see what you think.

Not sure what I’m looking forward to more though…the movie itself, or the fallout and discussion that comes from its release. I predict that FOX news will attempt to ignore it for the most part…but I hope I’m wrong
