With the movie set to premiere this week at the BFI London Film Festival, Netflix has released the first trailer for Wash Westmoreland’s upcoming thriller Earthquake Bird. Based on the novel by Susanna Jones, the story is set in 1989 Tokyo and revolves around a young woman who gets caught in a love triangle with a local photographer and is suspected of murder when her friend goes missing. Westmoreland has directed a handful of acclaimed films including Still Alice, which won Julianne Moore an Oscar, but the real draw here is the lead performances by Alicia Vikander and Riley Keough. Naoki Kobayashi and Jack Huston also co-star. Earthquake Bird arrives on Netflix on Nov. 15th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
