Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) Trailer

Although Margot Robbie will be returning as Harley Quinn for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, before that she will reprise the role in the upcoming spin-off Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Although the movie finds her teaming up with Black Canary, the Huntress and Renee Montoya (played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez), it is pretty clear that Harley Quinn is the star of the show here and I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just call it Harley Quinn. Directed by Cathy Yan, it borrows from the look and attitude that David Ayer established for Suicide Squad but attempts to inject a little more colour. That being said, the trailer still looks a bit bland and I’m not really feeling Ewan McGregor as Black Mask. Will this be another DC misfire or is Margot Robbie enough to win people over? Birds of Prey hits theatres on Feb. 7th; watch the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Has a trailer ever felt more like someone green lit a movie because their studio needed to produce more “content”? I know people hate trailers with too many spoilers but I watched this and I really have no idea if there’s any compelling plot at all, it just seems to be Harley Quinn and random women and no discernible bad guy or objective.

Completely agree. It looks so uninteresting and dull, dull, dull.
