New to Theatres This Weekend: Angel Has Fallen, Ready or Not, Tigers Are Not Afraid

We’re in the thick of late August now and if there was any doubt you can tell by the low budget genre flicks and Gerard Butler movies hitting theatres this weekend. Angel Has Fallen is the third installment in Butler’s unlikely action trilogy and seems poised to top the box office even though it is on track for the lowest opening in the series. Other movies in wide release include the horror thriller Ready or Not starring Samara Weaving and the faith-based sports drama Overcomer. Indie dramedy The Peanut Butter Falcon is also hoping to take advantage of the lack of major competition by expanding to almost 1000 theatres this weekend. In limited release, look for Brittany Runs a Marathon starring Jillian Bell, Mexican horror film Tigers Are Not Afraid, and period drama Vita & Virginia starring Gemma Arterton and Elizabeth Debicki. What will you be watching this weekend?

Are you guys planning on reviewing Ready or Not? I’ve been reading good things about it and it sort of sounds similar to the recently cancelled ‘The Hunt’.

Hoping to get to it next week if and when we do our drive-in marathon.
