The Morning Show Trailer: An Apple TV+ Series Starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell

A couple of months ago we saw the first trailer for Ronald Moore’s upcoming sci-fi series For All Mankind, but now this week Apple has released a full trailer for another high-profile Apple TV+ launch title: The Morning Show. Headed up by showrunner Kerry Ehrin (Bates Motel, Friday Night Lights), the show revolves around the behind-the-scenes operation of a popular morning news program that is thrown into chaos when one of the anchors is fired following a sexual misconduct scandal. With a star-studded cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billy Crudup, Nestor Carbonell and Mark Duplass, it feels a bit like Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom but without quite as much focus on the actual news stories and the merits of journalism. Either way, this is definitely the kind of original content that seems sure to recruit new subscribers for Apple. The Morning Show arrives this fall on Apple TV+; check out the trailer after below and see what you think.

Have they announced if Apple TV+ will release full seasons like what Netflix does? Or is this going to be one episode a week type deal?

  • Sean

Not sure if they have said that yet. I would assume they will drop full seasons at once to compete with Netflix and Amazon. But then again their previous original shows like Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke were weekly so who knows.

Wow the cast is great but the trailer does nothing but offer a bland showcase for this new series. I mean that is a bad trailer…no punch and no clarity. It makes the series look totally uninteresting…which may be the case for the series, hence the really lackluster trailer.
