It was a tight race at the box office over the weekend but Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw managed to hold on for the win with an estimated $25.4 million. The movie dropped 51% from its opening weekend and has now earned over $330 million worldwide. In second place, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark surprised with a solid $20.8 million debut, elbowing its way past Disney’s The Lion King, which dropped to third. Dora and the Lost City of Gold opened in fourth with a decent $17 million while Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood rounded out the top 5. Elsewhere, The Kitchen was a big disappointment, earning just $5.5 million while the South Korean boy band documentary Bring the Soul: The Movie came out of nowhere to jump into the top 10.
