Star Trek: Picard Comic-Con Trailer

Fresh off its premiere at the Star Trek Universe panel today at the San Diego Comic-Con, here is the full trailer for the upcoming CBS All Access series Star Trek: Picard. The trailer teases some basic plot details with Jean-Luc Picard being approached by a mysterious woman who pulls him out of retirement and back into adventure. However, fans will also be excited to see some familiar faces popping up including Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine and Brent Spiner as Data (it was also confirmed during the panel that Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes will reprise their roles as Deanna Troi and Will Riker). Michael Chabon is serving as showrunner. Star Trek: Picard will premiere in early 2020; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

    The video is unavailable. But I watched it someplace else.

    So basically they are bringing back many beloved character and the show is essentially a kind or reunion, to make the fans happy, and it seems to be heavily predicated on nostalgia. Other than that it’s not really clear, there’s a new young crew and a new adventure and the Borg (how predictable).
    But I gotta ask one thing: what the heck happened to Patrick Stewart’s voice? He sounds so frail. I am used to Jean-Luc Picard’s awesomely bombastic baritone.

    Unlike Discovery, this will be shown internationally on Amazon, not Netflix, and since I don’t have Amazon Video and I’m not sure I’ll open an account just for a weekly show, I might be sitting this one out. Seeing how Discovery turned out it might even be advisable…

    While Patrick Stewart will always be one of my fav actors, he looks very old in this. I know he’s old but he seems rather frail and older than I last saw him. Is that the intention of the series? Or will he look out of place like Harrison Ford did in the TFA? Moving like an old man in a franchise that requires action?

    Other than that it was great to see some familiar faces like Spiner and Ryan.

    Overall I don’t trust CBS or Paramount with the Trek franchise…the material so far has been really a mixed bag for me, with the JJ series being a total disaster and Discovery was a mishmash of really good stuff and utter “WTF” poor ass lazy writing.

    Not sure what to expect with Picard but I hope it’s good.

    Wishing the best of luck to Sir Patrick Stewart. I’m down for anything with the Borg and Spiner looks surprisingly fit for his return as Data.
