There are just two major releases hitting theatres this holiday weekend and they’ve already been playing for a few days now. Spider-Man: Far From Home looks to bridge the gap between Avengers: Endgame and Phase Four of the MCU and seems very likely to surpass Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s $117 million debut. On the other end of the spectrum, A24 is releasing Ari Aster’s latest horror film, Midsommar, which has also earned solid reviews but seems unlikely to match the hype of his previous film Hereditary. In select theatres, we have only a couple of additional options to offer: Nick Broomfield’s Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihlen documentary Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love and Greg Kinnear’s directorial debut, a dark comedy called Phil. What will you be watching this weekend?
