The Flash Solo Movie Gets It Director

Despite the fact that the DCEU kind of fell apart after the failure of Justice League, Warner Brothers have not give up on the various solo movies they had been planning to follow it up with. In particular, the Wonder Woman sequel is still happening and a new Batman movie is in development as well, albeit without Ben Affleck in the lead role. Now this week we are hearing that The Flash will still get a solo movie as well. The project has been through several directors already but we are hearing that the director of It and It: Chapter Two will be the latest filmmaker to try and push it to the starting line. Hit the jump for more details.

According to THR, Andy Muschietti is in talks to direct The Flash for Warner Brothers. Muschietti’s filmography has been exclusively horror, having helmed Mama as well as It and the upcoming It: Chapter 2. However, he is also attached to direct a live-action Robotech movie and an Attack on Titan movie as well. Warners have had success recruiting horror directors for comic book movies previously with James Wan taking on Aquaman and David F. Sandberg directing Shazam.

Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) is reportedly being courted to pen the script. Ezra Miller is still attached to play The Flash and he had co-written the previous draft of the script with respected comic book scribe Grant Morrison but the studio rejected it back in May. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Game Night) were previously attached to direct back when it was being planned as an adaptation of the “Flashpoint” storyline. It is unclear whether that is still the plan. Are you still looking forward to a solo Flash movie?
