Although no one was really dying to see a sequel to Jumanji, the inspired casting of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black somehow turned Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle into an insane box office hit for Sony (it made almost $1 billion worldwide). Now we’re obviously getting a sequel to that sequel and it looks like they’ve added a few new wrinkles to the premise. Spencer’s friends are forced to go back into the game to rescue him, but it seems to either be broken or modded and now most of the characters have switched roles with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart embodying old men (Danny DeVito and Danny Glover respectively). Awkwafina has also joined the cast while Rhys Darby and Nick Jonas are apparently reprising their roles from the previous film. Jumanji: The Next Level is once again directed by Jake Kasdan and it hits theatres on Dec. 13th; check out the first trailer below and see what you think.
