Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Trailer #2

onceuponatimeinhollywood

Fresh off its world premiere at Cannes, Sony has just unveiled a brand new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Described by Tarantino as his closest thing to Pulp Fiction since, well, Pulp Fiction, it takes place in 1969 Los Angeles across a canvas of multiple characters and storylines that eventually intersect. We know that washed up TV actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) eventually cross paths with Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie), who eventually crosses paths with Charles Manson (Damon Herriman). But beyond that it is still not entirely clear how it all overlaps. The movie features a mix of real and imagined events, history and satire, and you can sense Tarantino’s love of the era in every frame. Whether all the inside jokes and pop culture references will overwhelm the story remains to be seen. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood hits theatres on July 26th; check out the new trailer below and see what you think.

Honestly, this looks like a return to form for Tarantino after the disappointing excess and overindulgence of his last couple of features. This looks really promising and the runtime on this puppy is epic so let’s hope it actually earns it this time.
