Monday Morning Box Office Report: Avengers: Endgame Passes Titanic to Become #2 Movie of All Time Globally

What a difference a week makes. After Avengers: Endgame destroyed box office records last weekend, there was still some doubt as to whether or not it would have the staying power to beat Titanic or Avatar for the all-time worldwide box office total. But in its second weekend, the movie dropped just 55%, earning another $145.8 million domestically and $282 million overseas to hit $2.18 billion in just 12 days. That puts it past Titanic to become the second highest grossing movie of all time and at this point it seems highly unlikely that it won’t surpass Avatar‘s $2.78 billion in the near future to set a new record (at least until Avatar 2 arrives). Way down in second place, The Intruder earned $11 million, just barely edging out Long Shot, which earned $10 million. UglyDolls and Captain Marvel rounded out the top 5. Next weekend should be interesting as Endgame throws down with Detective Pikachu.

1. Avengers: Endgame — $145.8M
2. The Intruder — $11M
3. Long Shot — $10M
4. UglyDolls — $8.5M
5. Captain Marvel — $4.3M
6. Breakthrough — $3.9M
7. The Curse of La Llorona — $3.5M
8. Shazam! — $2.5M
9. Little — $1.5M
10. Dumbo — $1.4M

Unpopular opinion here, but in 20 years from now, “Titanic” will still have heart and mean something and be a good movie. I know I know people love to hate on it. But Avengers and Avitar will not age well. Hell Avengers end game hasn’t aged well for me in 2 weeks. Kind of forgettable and everyone kind of knew how the ending was going to go Down,so meh. Also why does Frank love Avitar? Doesn’t it go against his anti popular stance? Or did he only decide to love it when everyone turned their backs. And now Frank will do a 180 and hate it when it becomes popular again?
