Mad Max: Fury Road Tops Best of Decade Critics’ Poll

IMG_8269

With the 2010s about to draw to a close, you can expect to see a flood of Best of the Decade lists and articles popping up a little closer to the end of the year. One site decided to get ahead of the game, however, by polling 250 different film critics, programmers, academics and filmmakers on the top films of the decade thus far. After tabulating the results, they found that the winner was George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, beating Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life by just 9 votes. The polling supposedly happened last fall, so I guess it means no 2019 movies were eligible at all although 2018’s Roma did manage to make the cut. Also of note: David Lynch’s TV series Twin Peaks: The Return came in at #17. How do you feel about these results? Check out the top 25 after the jump and let us know what you think.

    Solid list.

  • No Tarantino – Frank’s gonna be fuming.

Holy Motors. What a strange, interesting movie that was.

Swap The Master and Moonlight and it would be a near perfect list. Her should be higher but I get that many do not like that film.

    But… who is The Master?
