It looks like we’re in for a quiet Easter weekend at the multiplex as everyone gears up for the release of Avengers: Endgame next weekend. That being said, it’s the perfect scenario for a low budget horror movie to thrive and New Line’s The Curse of La Llorona looks poised to do just that. Other major releases include the latest Disneynature documentary Penguins and the faith-based drama Breakthrough. In select theatres, David Robert Mitchell’s long-delayed neo-noir Under the Silver Lake looks to be getting completely dumped by A24 while Penny Lane’s Satanic Temple doc Hail Satan? seems to be getting a decent amount of attention. What will you be watching this weekend?
