Star Wars: Episode IX Teaser Trailer

Here it is, fresh from the unveil at Star Wars Celebration: the very first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker! This will mark the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga and, from what we have been hearing already, it will likely be the last Star Wars movie before they take a bit of a hiatus (famous last words). Plot details are still being kept under wraps but clearly Rey is heading for her final confrontation with Kylo Ren and the dark side. Billy Dee Williams is back as Lando and it would appear that Ian McDiarmid is also making his return as Emperor Palpatine. Star Wars: Episode IX is directed by J.J. Abrams and hits theatres on Dec. 20th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.

    I like the idea of BB8 secretly dropping him off a cliff and replacing him moving forward. “R2D2? What R2D2?”

  • Rise of Skywalker is either a title meant to troll people who disparaged SWTLJ or cater to the already disgruntled fan base…either way it is such an overt and obsequious way to try to calm the backlash against the franchise…JJ is probably desperate especially after what Rian Johnson did to his ideas and narrative plans…basically trashed them all…granted I didn’t like JJ’s direction anyway, but RJ just took it to a place that virtually destroyed the Skywalker storyline.

    I love the SW universe but it’s beginning to look like the DCEU…a mess.

    As a music video for John Williams’ amazing score this works beautifully, but I’ll reserve judgement until release as to whether JJ can salvage this trilogy after a childish and silly second act.
