If you are excited to hear that Brian De Palma has a new movie coming out next month (his first since 2012’s Passion), you might want to rein in that excitement just a little bit. Apparently the movie (titled Domino) was not a great experience for him and he has pretty much publicly disowned it; after an arduous shoot plagued by financial problems the producers opted to release an 88-minute cut that is about an hour shorter than De Palma’s version. The movie stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) as a Copenhagen police officer out for revenge after his partner is killed by ISIS. Yeah it looks like VOD trash, but maybe there’s still something worthwhile here? Domino co-stars Guy Pearce and Carice van Houten and it hits select theatres and VOD on May 31st.
