The Dead Don’t Die Trailer: Jim Jarmusch Makes a Zombie Movie

IMG_8207

When Jim Jarmusch decided to write and direct a movie about vampires, it made a certain amount of sense, especially when Only Lovers Left Alive turned out to be a retro cool rock and roll romance. This time around, however, the New York-based auteur is returning to the horror genre to offer his take on the undead and I’m not entirely sure it fits. It looks very comedic and very broad and yet it’s hard to resist a zombie movie that stars Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloe Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Iggy Pop, RZA, Selena Gomez and Tom Waits. Did I mention it also has Tilda Swinton wielding a katana sword? He’s really gotta do something about that title font though. The Dead Don’t Die hits select theatres on June 14th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Around the Web:

  • Deven Science

It visually looks like a Wes Anderson movie.

  • Lori Cerny

The humorous zombie film has been beaten to death, so this is a veto from me.

  • Glen

This looks like a fan film.

Did Jarmusch not have enough money to make a proper movie?

I too am fatigued on zombies, but I laughed out loud when Steve Buscemi got slowly choked. I actually think this will be really funny.
