Although the Bonnie and Clyde story has been told on screen a number of times over the years, up until now we haven’t had a movie from the perspective of the lawmen who were trying to bring them to justice. The Highwaymen looks to be exactly that with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson playing Texas Rangers Frank Hamer and Maney Gault. It’s hard not to be reminded a bit of The Untouchables which also starred Kevin Costner and essentially took place during the same time period, although whether this will deliver the same level of cinematic quality remains to be seen. Directed by John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, The Founder), The Highwaymen co-stars Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens and William Sadler and arrives on Netflix on March 26th.
