After taking a couple of years away from any major starring roles, Seth Rogen is back with a new comedy this summer that finds him reteaming with 50/50 and The Night Before director Jonathan Levine. This one harkens back to the movie that made him a huge star, Knocked Up, in that it finds Rogen playing an unattractive schlub named Fred Flarsky who enters into an unlikely relationship with an otherwise unattainable woman. Charlize Theron plays the love interest, who in this case also happens to be the U.S. Secretary of State and his former babysitter, but she hires Flarsky as a campaign writer when she decides to run for president. Yeah, it feels like even more of a stretch than usual and also a thinly-veiled excuse to work in some political humour, but if anyone can still make this work it’s probably Charlize Theron. Long Shot co-stars June Diane Raphael, Alexander Skarsgard, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Andy and Randall Park and it hits theatres on May 3rd. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
