Ocean’s 8 was a decent hit for Warner Brothers last summer and now this year MGM is hoping to recapture some of that same audience with their female-led crime comedy The Hustle, a loose remake of the 1988 film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. While the original starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine as two con men holding a contest to swindle a young heiress out of her fortune, this new version stars Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway as two con artists who team up to get revenge on the “dirty rotten men who have wronged them.” Directed by Chris Addison (Veep) from a screenplay by Jac Schaeffer (TiMER), the movie originally received an R-rating on its initial submission to the MPAA but was knocked down to PG-13 after an appeal.
