New to Theatres This Weekend: Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, The Mule, Mortal Engines

Things are finally picking up this weekend as we head into a crowded holiday home stretch. Sony’s animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse leads this week’s new releases backed by strong reviews and huge hype, although it still remains unclear just how well it will play outside family audiences. Other movies in wide release include Clint Eastwood’s The Mule, the Peter Jackson-produced YA flick Mortal Engines and the PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2, Once Upon a Deadpool. In select theatres, we also have one of the biggest awards season favourites, Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk and Lars Von Trier’s controversial The House That Jack Built (which is also on VOD). All this, plus Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma also finally arrives on Netflix! What will you be watching this weekend?

Around the Web:

Already got my tickets to take my son to Into the Spiderverse.

Into the Spider-Verse is amazing. Might be the single best Marvel movie ever.

Also hoping to watch The House that Jack Built this weekend but not if it’s this BS edited version.
