The Night Comes For Us Trailer Starring Iko Uwais

If Gareth Evans’ latest film Apostle wasn’t quite The Raid follow-up you were hoping for, Netflix has still got you covered. They acquired Timo Tjahjanto’s latest film The Night Comes for Us, which premiered at Fantastic Fest last month and is, by all accounts, an insanely brutal and bloody Indonesian action epic featuring The Raid: Redemption stars Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim. The story revolves around a former triad enforcer who tries to turn his life around to protect a young girl, setting off a massive gang war in the process. Timo Tjahjanto previously directed Headshot starring Uwais and also co-wrote and co-directed the “Safe Haven” segment from V/H/S 2 with Gareth Evans. If you’re an action movie junkie, it sounds like you’ll want to put this at the top of your watchlist. The Night Comes For Us arrives on Netflix this Friday, Oct. 19th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Movie was a lot of fun. Very, very similar to Headshot although the story elements borrow heavily from 90s Hong Kong action films ala John Woo. Probably benefits from that since Headshot’s story was borderline nonsense.
