Believe it or not, Disney has a total of three live-action adaptations of animated classics coming out next year: Tim Burton’s Dumbo, Jon Favreau’s The Lion King and Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin. The first teaser for the latter debuted during Thursday night football last night and although it does not reveal any footage of Will Smith as the Genie, it does offer a first look at the Cave of Wonders and Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as Aladdin himself. The movie also stars Naomi Smith (Power Rangers) as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Jafar with new music being provided by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land). Does this look like a worthy re-envisioning of a classic? Aladdin hits theatres on May 24, 2019; check out the teaser trailer after the jump and see what you think.
