I watch a lot of International movies (Bollywood, South Korean, Chinese, Brazilian), and whenever I talk about them to anyone, they just roll their eyes. Can't figure out if they're lazy or stupid.

Man I loved Train to Busan! Yeon Sang-ho did a fantastic job with a genre that has proliferated in every medium from podcast to TV to Film! Train to Busan was true gem and sweet sweet surprise in the genre.

But come on James Wan??? The guy, at least to me, is a horrible hack director and producer who makes horror movies with scares that are laughable! What he could accomplish in a remake is beyond me. He's no Yeon Sang-ho! Please.

Instead I'll be looking forward to the sequel Yeon Sang-ho is preparing! That's worth seeing than any James Wan production.

I think there’s always going to be an untapped audience for a Hollywood remake of a successful foreign genre film. Regardless of quality and accessibility, people don’t really go out to those movies. I guess that’s why The Night Comes for Us is being released by Netflix on Oct. 19. It’s nice how accessible it will be in just a few weeks, but it’s too bad these kinds of movies can’t find bigger audiences over here.
