Well it only took eleven years, five movies and the departure of Michael Bay for Paramount to finally give fans what they’ve been asking for all along… Transformers that actually look like the original G1 characters they grew up with. The upcoming prequel Bumblebee takes place in 1987 and stars Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson, a 17-year-old girl who finds herself in the line of fire when she discovers her yellow VW bug is more than just a car. This week Paramount has released a new trailer for the movie and it actually shows some familiar-looking character designs, although it also seems more kid-friendly than the previous installments for better or worse. Could this be a fresh start for the franchise or will it just be more of the same? Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings), Bumblebee hits theatres on Dec. 25th.
