Turning in every week to see if Jay’s back was like turning on Stern every Monday to see if Artie would show up after one of his meltdowns. Glad to hear the boys back together. You too, Frank.

  • Blake in Boston

Welcome back Jay! It’s been awhiiiiiiile.

  • andyluvsfilms

Jay’s back? Well, then i’m back.

This episode’s unofficial title: Jay Junk

  • newtaurus

I once saw someone write Film Jay. Same concept I guess.

  • Barlton Canks

I feel like formbx257 is something Reed should be doing. He has so much content just sitting in his place not becoming content!

  • Jay, you can’t just tell us about a hoarder stabbing police with bodycam footage without providing some kind of guidance in viewing the video. I’ve been unable to find the video. Does anyone have a link? :)

  • Jake

I haven’t been able to listed to the episode yet, but based on your description could it be this one?

  • No, that’s not it. It was dark and inside a hoarder’s house. The hoarder came out from a mound of junk and stabbed one of the officers.

  • Sean
  • That’s probably it, but it seemed scarier the way Jay described it lol. Thanks!

The various pronunciations of Martin Guigui! The “U” is skipped, so “[gee-gee]”. Quite the performance artist!

Pretty sure Avon Barksdale is one of the bad guys in The Wire, guess the writer is a fan.

I have Not at on bluray so I can vouch for it’s existence

  • The nightmare is inescapable now, my local Cineplexes are now fully assigned seating.

  • John

I LOVE that this does not feel the need to take a “reverant” approcach to 9/11. Any country that elects Trump should not deserve to feel badly about what happened to them. I would almost say since Trump i am happy whenever I hear about 9/11.

Only a conspiracy theorist would make a desperate appeal to the audience in an attempt to try and convince them he wasn’t a conspiracy theorist. Nice play Cheel foil hat.

Coincidentally enough it was only the other day that I listened to an old episode where Frank also mentioned Mark Wahlberg regretting Boogie Nights

  • Beat_C

so happy “dumpster diving” became a reality ????

  • Matt the Kiwi

I totally get Franks reluctance to buy anymore blu-ray discs…but when Abyss and True Lies finally get released (if ever), I think he’ll fold. Unless they get the 4K treatment at the same time and then all is well with the world.

  • I mostly disagree about the “steelbooks are ugly” proclamation. Yeah those comic book ones are stupid, but the boutique shit from Zavvi or NovaMedia or Screen Archive (or wherever) are fantastic looking. And they look amazing on the shelf. Frank is all hung up on uniformity on the shelf (I am too!) and my steelbook section is the prettiest part of my collection.

As for the cover art, it’s often times way better looking than the standard release. My steel of Blade Runner 2049 (and many others: Braveheart, Interstellar, Desperado, Matrix, Fargo, etc etc) for example is gorgeous.

  • Tommy

Filmworker is the most poorly made professional documentary I’ve ever seen, so I would say avoid, but I’d really like to hear the crew review it.

  • Nobody

When I listened to the Crazy Rich Asians ep., I actually wondered if Jay heard it and had any specific reaction to Frank’s review.

In addition to Tomb Raider, Mile 22, Skyscraper and Pacific Rim: Uprising seem like viable candidates for the dumpster dive. A good older pick would be Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Would Only the Brave count? That was well-received critically but didn’t do well at the box office.

  • pcch7

I don’t mind steelbooks but I think a steelbook section is a violation against the manifesto

  • I wipe my ass with the manifesto. They split up trilogies if they’re not in alphabetical order = wrong.
