After premiering last year at Fantastic Fest to mostly rave reviews, British horror comedy Anna and the Apocalypse is finally coming to theatres this year just in time for the holidays. The movie has received comparisons to Shaun of the Dead and revolves around a group of teenagers fighting to survive a zombie apocalypse on the same night as their annual high school Christmas concert. The gimmick, of course, is that the movie is also a musical, which seems like a risky proposition for a low budget indie flick. Still, all of the positive reviews give us some hope that this is not just another generic genre movie pandering to the zombie-loving hordes. At the very least, I suppose it could be this year’s Krampus? Anna and the Apocalypse hits select theatres on Nov. 30th before expanding nationwide on Dec. 7th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
