22 July Trailer: Paul Greengrass Tackles Norway’s Deadliest Terror Attack

Here’s the official trailer for yet another high profile film Netflix will be releasing this fall, Paul Greengrass’ 22 July. The movie falls squarely in his wheelhouse as it retells the true story of the 2011 terror attacks in Norway: a car bombing in Oslo followed by a mass shooting at a leadership camp for teens. Greengrass has obviously proven that he can deliver tense real-life thrillers that do not feel exploitative or manipulative, and assuming this one follows suit, it could put him back in Oscar contention and continue to put Netflix on the awards season map. 22 July will arrive on Netflix and in select theatres on Oct. 10th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

    I live close to Oslo so it’s an interesting one for me. I think they should’ve cast people who can speak better english if they wanted to have it in english though, otherwise do it in norwegian.

    As an aged-person, I watch ALL movies with captions turned on; even when I go to the theater I get the little device on a stick. With that said, I had no issues understanding any of the actors speaking in this trailer. Maybe because there wasn’t annoying background crashes & bangs & very loud music?

    Oh it’s not that I think it’s difficult to hear them, it’s just that norwegians are terrible at english in general. The way they pronounce words like Liverpuul etc, it just sounds so bad and pulls me out

    explosion looked reeeeeally fake, and the trailer overall looked tv-ish. I dunno, i didn’t even like the acting.
