New to Theatres This Weekend: The Meg, BlacKkKlansman, Slender Man

Tom Cruise goes up against Jason Statham and a giant shark this weekend as Mission: Impossible – Fallout enters its third week hoping to survive an encounter with The Meg. Both movies are expected to be in the mid-$20 million range, but everyone knows you should never underestimate a shark movie in the summer! Other new movies in wide release include Spike Lee’s well-received BlacKkKlansman starring John David Washington and Adam Driver, the canine comedy Dog Days, and the previously delayed Slender Man horror movie, which once seemed like easy money but is now barely on track to crack $10 million. In select theatres we also have the Thai prison kickboxing drama A Prayer Before Dawn (which is already available on DirecTV) and the acclaimed Sundance hit Madeline’s Madeline. What will you be watching this weekend?

Buybust sounds like an insane, awesome action movie but of course it isn’t playing anywhere near me.
