Frank’s right about the Ancients, they spawn explosives

Sean’s internet situation sounds like a mess haha. I’m so happy I have ports in every room in my place so I always have easy access with wires

Guys, I too was really looking forward to the System Shock reboot, but unfortunately, I think Night Dive Studios (Turok remasters=very good) bit off more than they could chew. They originally got glowing reviews on the Unity based retro demo but constant delays revealed a few months back that it’s now been shelved until 2020. Their successful Kickstarter unintentionally pushed them into a new game engine and the art design didn’t honour their original vision. Ironically I’m glad I didn’t bite on the Kickstarter. Hopefully they resurrect this one day. Night Dive has more experience as a publishing/remastering studio anyways.

I’m with Frankie on Toadstool Tour. As much as I like Mario Golf 64 (only good N64 golf game), I have not played any Gamecube game more with friends than that or Mario Party 4/5. My friend probably played it for years without realizing you could increase each character’s power stats on selection (Z trigger?)

Sean, the Rise of the Tomb Raider has more tombs that are more involved than the first game and has more of a semi-open-world feel so I think you’ll enjoy that one more.

Pretty wild that you guys mention ROMs and being thieves and immediately, Whammo!, Nintendo sues two ROM sites. Think someone at Nintendo HQ is a GJ fan?

  • Sean

Sounds good, thanks for the heads up. I should be getting to it soon I hope.

I have convinced myself that there are all kinds of secret Junk listeners in high places. That being said, I don’t know that this particular news story has anything to do with us. :)

  • Sean

It’s not *that* bad anymore. I bought a Netgear Nighthawk and it solved most of my issues.

    That’s good to hear =D

SharePlay on PS4 is great for 2 player same-screen coop/comp games. I can totally see that working for Overcooked (thanks for that suggestion), and it’s also great for sports games and brawlers. The only downside is that it lasts 60 minutes and then you have to start it up again, not a big deal—just a minor annoyance. Thanks for putting this show out, I wasn’t expecting one so soon!

  • I know you guys already tackled some gamer gate discussion on an episode back, but did you have thoughts on what happened to those Guild Wars 2 devs? Fans were very vocal about tweets they made and the stink they put up got them fired.

  • Frank did you say you didn’t use your runic attacks hardly at all? I can’t imagine getting through the mists or the Valkyries or the realm tears without those. I wouldn’t even have come close.

  • Frankie Knuckles

Sorry … may have misspoken … should have said I didn’t experiment with them. I found ones that I liked and never changed, so finding new ones wasn’t very exciting to me.

  • Yeah that makes sense. Once I got ones I liked, I never went back either. I looked at the little video in the description and said, “yeah that’s not what I want” and stayed with what I had.

The L1+O runic that immediately recharged the other two runics was a no-brainer.

I remember reading that two people were fired (a woman and her boss I believe), but didn’t read much more about it, so no comment from me right now.
