Although the first Goosebumps movie was fairly well-received and seemed to do okay at the box office, the sequel feels like Sony has decided to cut their losses and churn out a cheaper, less ambitious follow-up. This one takes place on Halloween night with two friends discovering a manuscript in an abandoned house that unleashes a Halloween Apocalypse. Jack Black does not reprise his role as R.L. Stine but he does return to voice Slappy the ventriloquist dummy. Director Rob Letterman is also replaced by Ari Sandel (The DUFF, When We First Met). Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween stars Jeremy Ray Taylor (It), Caleel Harris (Castle Rock), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), Ken Jeong and Chris Parnell and it hits theatres on Oct. 12th.
