Unfriended was a surprise hit back in 2015, making an impressive $64 million on a tiny $1 million budget. So of course there is a sequel on the way and it is another found footage horror movie that takes place primarily over video chat, although it seems to have dropped any supernatural elements in place of something slightly more realistic. The plot revolves around a teenager who discovers a laptop that contains video evidence of human trafficking and other crimes. He decides to share the files with his friends online, but soon finds that the owner has been watching them all along. Directed by Stephen Susco, who wrote The Grudge remake and its sequel, it is also produced by both Jason Blum and Timur Bekmambetov. Unfriended: Dark Web hits theatres on July 20th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
