Shane Black’s The Predator Trailer

At long last, the first trailer for the upcoming Predator sequel / reboot has arrived. Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) is directing from a script written by himself and Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps, Monster Squad), which is more than enough reason to be excited. The story moves the battle from the jungle to small town America, pitting a “ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher” against the deadly alien hunters. That could either be the movie’s greatest strength or its ultimate downfall, but at the very least it seems like an improvement on Robert Rodriguez’s Predators. The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane and Jake Busey and it hits theatres on Sept. 14th.     Why not, think that Black is a good enough writer to know how to avoid a turd movie, even before the shooting starts. Think this movie will surprise me, and maybe there is a secret cameo of Arnie. At least no Alien in sight.
