Monday Morning Box Office Report: The Avengers: Infinity War Becomes the Fastest to Hit $1 Billion

The Marvel train just keeps on rolling as The Avengers: Infinity War recorded the second biggest second weekend ever at the box office, crossing $1 billion in record time. Only Star Wars: The Force Awakens had a better second weekend, but Infinity War hit the $1 billion mark one day sooner than The Force Awakens did. In a distant second place, MGM and Lionsgate’s Overboard remake opened with $14.8 million, which is a little better than the studio expected. A Quiet Place fell to third while I Feel Pretty and Rampage rounded out the top 5. Elsewhere Jason Reitman’s Tully debuted in sixth place with a mediocre $3.2 million while Bad Samaritan outright bombed in tenth place with $1.8 million. The Avengers still has one more week to continue raking it in before Deadpool 2 hits theatres.
