New to Theatres This Weekend: Ready Player One, Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, Gemini

Steven Spielberg’s first sci-fi movie since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull arrives in theatres as Ready Player One leads the new releases for the Easter long weekend. The movie is tracking for a $35 to $45 million opening but with a strong start on Thursday it looks like it might go even higher. Other major releases include Tyler Perry’s latest film Acrimony starring Taraji P. Henson and the third Christian-themed movie in three weeks, the sequel God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness. In select theatres, Neon is releasing Aaron Katz’s mystery thriller Gemini and A24 has Adam Rifkin’s The Last Movie Star starring Burt Reynolds. What will you be watching this weekend?
