It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a decade since Jody Hill’s last film Observe & Report, but the good news is that he has finally taken time away from the HBO show Vice Principals to direct a new movie. The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter stars Josh Brolin as Buck Ferguson, a renowned deer hunter with his own hunting show who sets off on a weekend trip with his estranged son, Jaden. Hill’s frequent collaborator Danny McBride co-wrote the script and also co-stars in what appears to be another darkly comedic examination of the male ego. The movie just premiered at SXSW to somewhat mixed reviews, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from this crew. The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer arrives on Netflix on July 6th; check out the first clip from the movie after the jump.
