Disney’s Christopher Robin Trailer Starring Ewan McGregor

Last year Domnhall Gleeson starred in Goodbye Christopher Robin, a biopic about Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne that seemed at the time to be somewhat reminscent of Marc Forster’s Finding Neverland. Now this year Disney is releasing their own Pooh-themed pseudo-biopic directed by (who else?) Marc Forster. Ewan McGregor plays the grown up Christopher Robin who has apparently lost touch with his inner child and become a stuffy businessman. Fortunately, Pooh and his fictional friends are there to help, kind of like Seth MacFarlane’s Ted… only for serious. Also of note: Winnie the Pooh is voiced by long-time voice actor Jim Cummings, which seems to have divided the internet right down the middle. Christopher Robin hits theatres on Aug. 3rd; check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Hmm, he doesn’t sound bad, just that he’s missing that squeaky sweetness that Sterling Holloway exuded.

Here’s a question. Should the voice actor be trying to emulate the classic voice or should he try creating a new sound for Winnie the Pooh?
