Lost in Space Teaser: Netflix Revives the Classic Sci-Fi Series

Netflix is continuing their major push into sci-fi this year with a new version of the classic ’60s series Lost in Space, which is is set to arrive almost exactly 50 years after the original show went off the air. The upcoming reboot offers a modern take on the campy original, which followed the adventures of a spacefaring family who crash land on an unknown planet. The show hails from showrunner Zack Estrin (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) and writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Gods of Egypt, Power Rangers) with Neil Marshall (The Descent) directing several episodes. Will it at least be an improvement on the disastrous 1998 feature film? We will know soon enough. Lost in Space debuts on Netflix on April 13th; check out the teaser trailer after the jump and see what you think.

A little more interested now that I know Neil Marshall is involved. Is it bad that I enjoyed the 1998 movie lol? Matt LeBlanc shooting really bad CGI aliens and a spider Gary Oldman? What’s not to love.

  • Lori Cerny

Yes, you are bad. When was the last time you watched it?

That trailer makes me hate it and hate Netflix. No drama, no intrigue, no awe, no gadgetry. Can’t Master Will Robinson keep his mouth closed? I already hate him. Which one is Dr. Smith? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the character was played by the only non-white suburbanite?! Could they have made the family look anymore generic?! They shoulda shown us Robbie the Robot and nothing else!!!

I think you’re completely off-base. The two white parents have a black daughter…. I still think this show looks terrible, but more for the ‘diversification’ pandering to folks like you (pandering which wasn’t
    even successful, apparently.)
