Anyone who has fallen down a YouTube rabbit hole or two can probably attest to the strangely compelling nature of dashboard camera videos. But how would you feel about watching an entire movie of them? Russian filmmaker Dmitrii Kalashnikov decided to assemble a collection of these videos from around Russia to create The Road Movie, a strange, funny and at times disturbing portrait of a country where apparently anything can happen. From comets to forest fires to road rage, this extreme travelogue has it all and seems to scratch the same itch as both Jackass and Faces of Death. Oscilloscope Laboratories will give The Road Movie a limited theatrical release on Jan. 19th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
