If I had to offer a theory it would be that these comic book universes are filled with characters that are wildly different in terms of power so the match-ups are always at an equitable level that can still create suspense. It’s a particularly boring way to solve a real problem with this type of story-telling.

So Black Panther is fighting Michael B. Jordan who’s wearing another Black Panther suit? Why do these comic book heroes always have to fight an evil version of themselves (Superman vs. Zod, Logan vs. X-24, Iron Man vs. Iron Monger, Hulk vs. Abomination)? Geez Louise.
