New to Theatres This Weekend: Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Inhumans, I Do… Until I Don’t

After an extremely slow weekend last week, things look even more dire for multiplexes this weekend. You know it’s pretty slim pickings out there when the two biggest theatrical releases of the week are a 40 year old movie and the first two episodes of a TV show. The 4K restoration of Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind leads the sparse crop of Labour Day titles along with Marvel’s Inhumans, which is debuting in IMAX theatres ahead of its TV premiere. Period romance Tulip Fever starring Alicia Vikander also expands to over 700 screens this weekend, but other than that, it’s probably a good time to catch up on something that you missed. In select theatres, we also have Lake Bell’s I Do… Until I Don’t, action thriller Unlocked starring Noomi Rapace and Orlando Bloom, and the Spanish comedy Do It Like An Hombre from Chilean filmmaker and frequent Eli Roth collaborator Nicolás López.
