New to Theatres This Weekend: The Dark Tower, Detroit, Kidnap

August is finally here and the summer movie season is winding down with the last major blockbuster arguably arriving this weekend. Reviews for The Dark Tower have been decidedly mixed but it is still expected to top the box office barring a complete disaster. Also in wide release we have Kathryn Bigelow’s latest politically-charged drama Detroit and the Halle Berry thriller Kidnap. Other new movies opening in select theatres include Taylor Sheridan’s directorial debut Wind River, the Baltimore dance documentary Step and the Sundance hit Columbus starring John Cho.
