Eli Roth’s Death Wish Trailer Starring Bruce Willis

This Thanksgiving MGM will be releasing a heartwarming little family film called Death Wish… that’s right, a remake of the controversial 1974 thriller about a man who goes on a killing rampage to take revenge for the murder of his wife. Bruce Willis steps into the shoes previously filled by the iconic Charles Bronson while Eli Roth directs a major studio film that is well-suited to his so-called torture porn roots. In this version, they’ve changed the setting to Chicago with Willis playing a surgeon who is well-acquainted with the brutal consequences of gang violence. Yeah, something tells me that in the Trump era this is going to be equally as polarizing as the original. Death Wish co-stars Elisabeth Shue, Vincent D’Onofrio and Dean Norris and it hits theatres on Nov. 22nd; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

I likey! Willis looks like he’s turned a new leaf and enjoying it. Now bring that “Unbreakable” – “Split” crossover film proto M. NIGHT.

  • Lori Cerny

Huh. I had the opposite reaction to the trailer – just makes me sad.

I am still hopeful about “Glass”, though.

Fairly abysmal looking trailer. Wonder if it will feature Roth’s signature violence and gore. Only way this will work is if it goes full DEATH WISH 3.

I was trying to think when old Bruce last had a theatrical release in the UK- Expendables 2? Maybe this will be a return to some kind of form? although if its eli roth does that mean we get 45 minutes of badly written dialogue between bad actors before anything interesting happens?
