When Hulk Hogan sued Gawker over a leaked sex tape back in 2013, many people applauded his decision to take on a sleazy celebrity blog and stand up for his right to personal privacy. The resulting trial, however, grew into something more than that — especially when it was revealed that someone else had paid Hogan’s legal fees in order to help bring Gawker down. Now director Brian Knappenberger (We Are Legion, The Internet’s Own Boy) is recapping the entire ordeal and helping to illustrate the bigger issues with his latest documentary Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press. This was one of the most talked about docs at Sundance where it was acquired by Netflix for a cool $2 million. Nobody Speak arrives on Netflix on June 23rd; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
