Stephen King’s It Trailer

After a few false starts, the folks at Warner Brothers have finally been able to get a new version of Stephen King’s classic novel It off the ground and this week we’ve got our first look at the upcoming film. Although Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) was once attached to direct it as two separate movies, they ended up settling on Andrés Muschietti (Mama) and a single installment. The story revolves around a group of kids in a small town who encounter a monster that appears in the form of a terrifying clown named Pennywise. The popularity of Stranger Things clearly indicates that people are ready to revisit this kind of material, but can Bill Skarsgård compete with Tim Curry’s performance in the 1990 mini-series? It hits theatres on Sept. 8th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
