If you’re wondering what John Wick co-director David Leitch was up to while his partner Chad Stahelski was working on John Wick: Chapter 2, here’s the first trailer for Leitch’s next film, Atomic Blonde. The movie stars Charlize Theron as a British spy named Lorraine Broughton who was apparently enrolled in the same gun kata class as John Wick. Based on Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s graphic novel The Coldest City, this looks like a much more high-energy rock n’ roll take on the source material, which was a more deliberately paced, spycraft-y Cold War thriller. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Atomic Blonde co-stars John Goodman, Sofia Boutella, James McAvoy and Toby Jones and it hits theatres on July 28th.
