A new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, offering up (among other things) our first look at Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet aka Star-Lord’s dad. There is also plenty of other new footage, some of which is action-oriented, but overall they are continuing to sell the movie largely based on the characters and the humour which is actually pretty refreshing. I suspect that Baby Groot is still going to be a point of contention for some, but no matter how nauseatingly cute he gets, I can’t see it derailing the fun. It seems safe to say that Marvel will be kicking off the summer movie season with another massive hit. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theatres on May 5th; check out the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
