Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins Trailer: A Live-Action Video Game from the Makers of Bellflower

Evan Glodell’s low budget romantic thriller Bellflower was a hit at Sundance back in 2011, and although we weren’t big fans of it around these parts, it was clear that Glodell was going to be an exciting new filmmaker to keep an eye on. We’ve been hearing for a few years now that his next project would be a video game-inspired action movie and a couple of years back his production company launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund it. Now it looks as though the movie is almost complete because they have released the first teaser trailer and it looks pretty crazy. Glodell isn’t directing this time around (Bellflower editor Jonathan Keevil took the reins instead) but he does star as Chuck Hank, who must team up with two twin brothers to rescue their sister from an evil gang called The Syndicate. It is clearly inspired by ’80s beat-em-up arcade games and it seems like it will fall in line with recent ’80s throwbacks like The FP, Turbo Kid and Kung Fury. Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins is expected to be released sometime this summer; check out the first teaser after the jump and let us know what you think.
